Bottle Necks

What are organisations? An organisation is designed to serve members of the public with a service or product that benefits the consumer. How do organisations deliver their service or product? Organisations deliver their service  through the factors of production, Land - Capital - Labour.

What is the factor of production that is the most complicated to control? Land can be acquired through acquisition and turned into additional capacity to serve the organisation services or product offering to consumers. Capital can be raised through banks - business angels or venture capitalist to grow an organisations growing consumer base.

However, people can be employed to service growth, but they all have independently thinking brains that can become irrational at any point.

Processes

A Process has been within the human psyche from when man first become conscious of being a man.  Building flint arrows, to the pyramids, or the modern day AI process task tools. Process is what creates a consistent product or service. However, sometimes a process can fail; when demand has outstripped supply , or a machine or man has failed to continue the flow of the process.

Many Processes in business are automated in terms of manufacturing or services. Technology and IT systems govern their efficiency that can sometimes fail to deliver real value.  Finance departments try to manage profitability - cashflows, liabilities. Sales and marketing departments try to  determine customer expectation and operational process tries to cope with bottlenecks and lead-times.

Systems

A System enables the quality to remain the same standard throughout the process of service or production delivery.  Systems have become very complex along with the development of process design. Technological advancements have increased process and system design where sometimes the very innovation used to be simple becomes very complex.

Technology Systems create repositories of data that helps with the workflow of business.  Communication between departments or external suppliers is the bedrock that determine a businesses competitiveness within the market place.  Workflow systems can become very complex and time consuming which can become excessively bureaucratic.

Mindfulness

People

Process and systems all require a human being at the helm. People are not a machines, but without people machines cannot operate. Often people use a process or system to control the variation of business, but this can result in the system becoming bureaucratic.

Process or System changes have effects on people that can determine the success of any business change. Therefore, what provisions are you making to reduce this type of scenario from happening?
